Episode 3: Top 3 Reasons to Memorize Scripture (The Lingering Life Podcast)

Episode 3: Top 3 reasons to memorize scripture

As lingerers in Jesus, we hear often that we should memorize God’s Word.

We even believe the benefits to be true.

And yet…it’s not something we do often. We see it as great for children’s church or midweek club, but when it comes to memorizing Scripture as an adult, we have lots of reasons why we don’t.

It’s hard. My brain is old and tired. Brain fog. Too busy. Don’t have the time. Don’t have the energy.

Join me on today’s podcast as we chat about 3 benefits of memorizing God’s Word. And we’ll even memorize a verse together.

Highlights from this episode:

The truth is…our minds are memorizing things all day long. It’s memorizing the rude comment someone made. It’s memorizing the moment someone cut you off. It’s memorizing a new song. It’s memorizing a new quote. So we can memorize…we’re already doing it.

The truth about the battles we fight is that its not on the actual battle field. The battles we fight most often is in the mind. I would dare to say that for me every single battle takes place in the mind first.

God’s Word is worth memorizing.
